Fiona Kay is 11 weeks old today!
Last week she spent the entire week sleeping for 6 hours a
night. Waking up, feeding and then
sleeping for another 3. Praise God! A
week without cluster feeding. I thought,
this is it. We are in the clear. A week is consistent. This is for good right? WRONG.
Jason had two days off and we broke her routine entirely for
two days straight and Fiona got turned upside down. Oooo baby.
Today is day 3 of getting back on her routine. Day 3 is that magical number for her. She is resettled and sleeping better without
waking up and frazzled that Mommy is not holding her. With that being said, I am now caught up on household chores and such, so I have time to actually sit down, think, and blog:
On top of her being 11 weeks old today (what?) Fiona is also, as my Mom-in-Law phrased it,
“an exceptional child!” The stinker held
her bottle on her own this morning!!!!
It is ridiculous how much a child changes over night; no
exaggeration. Before I gave her the
bottle I told Jason she looked different this morning, her face had changed.
(Our kid just keeps getting cuter.) And
on top of that I was feeding her her much anticipated bottle when I realized
she was capable of holding it on her own as I reached for my much anticipated
coffee. Jason jumped up and grabbed his phone and took
a picture before she moved. Thank
goodness!
After a night of cluster feeding, I do not feel guilty for
cheating and giving her a bottle with breastmilk. Especially since she proved just how quick
she is growing and learning to navigate her limbs, YET AGAIN.
Motherhood is awesome.
Cheers!
