Dutch Couple Praying at Church
I completed a new embroidery project as a present for my lovely MOM-in-law. Her home is decorated with needlework and Hummels and loves Dutch things so I knew she would love this. I first started this project as a Mother’s
Day gift but all the kids decided to go in a really cool collaborative gift
which made this gift even more of a surprise to her which was awesome.
I completed this in all back stitch in 3/6 DMC 824 Blue thread. This is a vintage design from a day-of-the-week tea towel
pattern set.
I wanted to make her something really special and this pattern was
perfect. It resembles a cup that my
Dad-in-law got during his travels last year and think it is just really
appropriate for her!
I came up with the idea to work on this after I had posted
about embroidery project of Fiona's portrait and will work on Fiona’s portrait
embroidery this week as I take breaks from sewing and reading.
Things have been a little cray cray and I haven’t wanted the
sewing table up to add clutter to the apartment. But this week Jason said he will take the
table up and down as needed so I can work on sewing but be able to put it away
so the three of us don’t have to further squished in our wee little place for a
three person family.
So, with that being said I made Fiona a new bib last night
to get me back into the game and I have some projects in mind that I will like
to tackle, all of which will require me learning new skills. New sewing posts to come
I am sure of it!
Cheers!
