Today we woke up to our first snow of the season!
Jason and I were able to enjoy it together for a few moments before he left for work.
When I walked back inside the house Fiona had woken up and we stood looking out the window. She was excited.
Later on in the morning I asked Jason what his thoughts were on taking Fiona out to enjoy her first snow. I was a little sad that he could not be there to experience it with her so I wanted to make sure it was ok with him first. Of course he replied to take her out right then to make sure she could enjoy it before the snow melted in the afternoon.
What a delightful time. Fiona and I were able to experience our first real snow experience together.
I have experienced snow in California. But that snow was compact and hard. This snow was fresh and fluffy and real.
Fiona loved looking at it and liked it in theory. But she hates hates hates her jacket and mittens and beanie. She did not like that she had to wear all those layers. So I took off her mitten and sat her in the snow. She had an expression of "Why the heck did you make a big deal about this fluffy white stuff? It is cold. And I don't quite know how to feel about this. Mom!"
But, she will get used to it. One way or another!
What an awesome experience. Fiona is going to grow up seeing the seasons change. And for that I am thankful.
Cheers!
